Clutch Cover Bolt Help!
I've finally gotten to my designer spring install and all is in good and torqued to spec. I go to place the clutch cover back on (I used the cover to hold the correct bolts back in place) and I stumbled and several bolts fell out. I have all sorted, but the short one with the gasket. Which hole does it go in? I can't wait to get her back together!

I was going to say that it looks like you will be playing Chinese Chequers with clutch cover bolts.
Happy you figured it out.

Re: Clutch Cover Bolt Help!
After looking through it several times, I found a diagram on page 3-83 of the online shop manual. I also have the Clymers, but it says to install the bolts with the sealing washers as show in figure 90. Well, there's only 1 arrow pointing to the top one. There is nothing pointing to the one I needed.
Lol.
Lol.

Re: Clutch Cover Bolt Help!
If this happen again in any circumstance just place the bolts in the holes and each one should be about equal distance. If not you got one wrong.

A piece of cardboard with the bolts put in their proper spot eliminates the guess work.

This had nothing to do with where do the short and long bolts go. It was about where do the 2 bolts with the gaskets go after they were accidentally mixed up.Fred wrote:If this happen again in any circumstance just place the bolts in the holes and each one should be about equal distance.
