Wicked vibration at 80+ mph
I went out for a ride on Friday with a couple of younguns that wanted to ride quick after I showed them a few new roads. One with a GSXR 600 he doesn't know how to ride and the other with an 883 Sportster. My problem was 0-80 neither would come close to my '05 S83, but once I got close to 80 it started to shake like crazy. Looked like an inch of travel fore and aft on my handlebars, but no shake on the rear of the bike. My first though is the front wheel is out of balance, but why wouldn't I feel it until 80? What do you guys think? Also there was once when I was trying to ride through the shake. I indicated 90, but they said they indicated 90 and I was pulling away. How wonky are our speedos?

Could be a number of things but probably worn steering head bearings or a cupped front tyre. Or a combination of both.
