I have one of these gauges on every bike I own.....I know what my charging system is doing at a glance.

Terrific-- so you must see the charge drop off.

??????....Your cage don't have a light/gauge????.......It would help immensely in this case were the charge is intermittent.......You can ride & know when you loose charge (When bars turned) or whenever.

Love to chat but I do not know if 'cage' means charge or 'were' is where. Unless cage is US slang for bike!!
