The expanding water when freezing will pop out the dent. Of course the cap has to be off. Does that sound legit? It kind of makes sense to me.
I've heard/read something like that before i believe. Only thing i'd worry about doing that is it pressing apart the tank seams. Don't know how much force it has and if that would be possible.. But sure would (i think) push out a dent. Not sure if i have enough space in my freazer but might borrow a spot in a friends if it'll work. Lol.

I've also read somewhere about heating the dent with a torch and then pressing shreaded ice into it.. The rapid contraction would pop the dent into it's former shape.

Or a heat guna and compressed air in a can for computers.

What's the "normal" way you get a dent like that out?

I think normally bang out from inside but impossible where the dent is and the way filler hole is.
Think they'd also probably drill a small hole and use a slide-hammer?
Maybe something with good suction could vaccume/pull it out?
I'll try to find a way to make it happen. Lol.

Putting stock pipes on soon. Fix'd the spring for starter button, starts and runs good. Rode her up and down the street with just the headers and only poped once.. Surprised.

BTW Bronx, those are brand new tires and tubes front and rear. That bike really had some balls, and I really kept up on the maintenance. A 97 with only 10,000 miles. I'm getting jealous now. I just didn't have the money to put into restoring her the way I would have liked to. Good luck, Bro; and if you ever want to stop by you have my number.

Lol.. I'm good on the crack-ho brother. Lol.

I'm sure she'll pull stronger once i sync the carbs. 1 pulls just before the other. Haha. Yeah.. I know how it can be brother. But you got your newer 1400 so i know you're okay. How many miles on that one?
I'll for sure keep you up to date on her progress. Not much left to do really. Got the front engine mount bolt thru and secured. Gotta fix the rear brake. Refresh fluids, put exhaust on, signals, sync carbs, and re-cover seats.

My 03 has 23,500 miles on her. And I'm thinking it's about time to swap out the clutch springs. Nothing major going on, but I think it may help give it more "Umph".

Ordered one on Ebay already, but thanks. I know you have a treasure trove of parts though so will inquire as the next need arises.
