EMGO 19" Turnout questions
I know a couple of you guys are running the 19" Emgo Turnouts on your 1400's....I have a few questions as I am seriously considering selling my Jardine Rumblers (cheap) and going to the Emgos.
1) Did anyone need to rejet for the 19" Turnouts?
2) Where did you mount the braces?
3) Did they include all the necessary reducers and clamps etc?
Lastly and most importantly....how do you like them?
Looking forward to reading replies...Thanks!

Re: EMGO 19" Turnout questions
Let me know how this goes. I too am thinking about changing away from the current pipes (cobras).

Re: EMGO 19" Turnout questions
You don't have to rejet these bikes, unless you switch to a free flowing intake. The 1400 really benefits from that, as well as exhaust change, Designer springs and Dyna ignition and coils. If you're just changing exhaust for now, still to adjusting your a/f screws, then rejet if/when you change your intake.

Re: EMGO 19" Turnout questions
I currently run EMGO turnouts on both of my 1400's. Love them! No rejetting is not necessary for these pipes. Buy them and enjoy!!!

Hey DM....How about a couple pics of the installation so we can see how you have them hooked up?

Re: EMGO 19" Turnout questions
I really do not have any pictures of the installation process. It is so simple my grandson could do it.
1. Remove old exhaust, when so doing loosen but do not remove the headers. Being able to move them fore and aft makes it much easier.
2. I believe you need to use all three reducers that come with them; but 2 for sure. Lube them with WD-40 first as well as the header section.
3. Slide the reducers on to the header ALL the way.
4. Slide mounting bracket into the slot on the pipe. Tighten it down enough to keep it from coming out but loose enough to slide fore and aft to find proper position.
4. Pic a pipe, any pipe as they are symmetrical, and slide it onto the header. DO NOT tighten down. Slide the mounting bracket so that it finds the mounting hole on the battery box. Install battery box mounting bolt and nut but keep them a bit loose.
5. Check fitment, adjust things as necessary to ensure full pipe engagement onto the header. When satisfied, lock header down.
6. Lock down mounting bracket on backside of pipe and nut/bolt on battery box.
7. Lock down exhaust clamp.
8. Repeat process for other side.
Depending on your skill level this entire process should take less than 30 minutes.

Re: EMGO 19" Turnout questions
Got a part # for these? How loud are they? Cost? Do they hold up to the heat or will they yellow/blue like the headers do?
