I had some brass bushing that happened to be the right size to fit in the forks.

I jacked the bike up to take the weight off the front end, pulled the top cap and there is an inner one that requires a large hex wrench. Pull it, put the spacer on and force the inner cap down and start it. I have a set of hex wrenches that I bought at Harbor Freight that allow me to use a 3/8 drive ratchet to push down and start the inner cap.

I used to bottom out on speed bumps, the peg bracket would hit and sometimes it was hard enough to stop the bike, since I did that I no longer have the problem.
I can't seem to win the lottery. I think I have used up all of my good luck riding motorcycles.

I just did this today. I used 2 3/4 in. I.d. PVC couplers that I cut to 1 in. In length. Took a lot of the slop out of the front and made the front end feel super stable. Just double check when your done that you still have 3/4 to 1 inch of sag when your done.
